Artificial intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science that seeks to develop algorithms, models, and techniques that enable machines to learn and perform tasks that, until recently, could only be performed by people. These tasks include decision making, pattern identification, natural language comprehension, visual perception, and complex problem solving.
Key AI concepts and components:
- Machine learning (machine learning). A subfield of AI that focuses on teaching machines to learn from data and information to make predictions or decisions without being explicitly programmed to do so. It uses a variety of algorithms and models to find patterns and relationships in data.
- Deep learning (deep learning). A technique within machine learning that uses neural networks with three or more layers. These networks try to simulate the functioning of the human brain to "learn" from large amounts of data. It is especially useful in fields such as computer vision and natural language processing..

- computer vision. This area of AI is about teaching machines to interpret and make decisions based on images and videos. It is used in a variety of applications, from object detection to medical examination interpretation.
- Collaborative. AI is also applied in robotics, where it is used to enable robots to perform complex tasks and navigate their environment.
- Expert systems. Computer programs that imitate the decision-making skills of an expert within a specific domain.

AI has a wide range of applications in various fields: healthcare, finance, transportation, entertainment… It is rapidly transforming the way we live and work, offering new capabilities and efficiencies, but also raising challenges and concerns, especially in terms of ethics, employment and security.
