From the very moment of the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, a good number of people from Alicante mobilized to create the Alicante Platform for Ukraine (PAU). According to his manifesto, which can be found in his newly launched website, recognize that they have made the decision «to create a civil platform that, collaborating at all times with the authorities, helps to prepare as soon as possible the necessary infrastructure to receive, on a temporary basis, the Ukrainian refugees who arrive in our land«.
Among the main objectives of the recently created civil platform is, in the short term, «prepare the infrastructure for the arrival, accommodation and temporary integration of Ukrainian refugees in the province of Alicante in full cooperation with the authorities. For this, they ask for the collaboration of individuals and organizations so that they join the PAU and can collaborate with the resources that each one of them can contribute.
In the medium term, the PAU intends to «contribute to the best possible location and the settlement of people and families in our environment«. Finally, in the long term, the idea of the PAU is that "when the conditions for the return to their homeland are met, the refugee population can resume their daily life."
1millionbot, with the PAU
Currently, the PAU has more than thirty organizations. Between them, 1millionbot has joined the manifesto and has collaborated, with its resources, in the creation of the PAU website.
The website offers the possibility, in addition to joining the PAU, to offer concrete help that each person can contribute. There is also a space for the Ukrainian refugee population itself that seeks ways that connect with the help offered by the population of Alicante.
