The Spanish language is no longer just a vehicle for communication between people. It has become an element of attraction for new resources that look to the future. Artificial Intelligence is one of those tools that have placed Spanish at the center of that conversation where the future and the present go hand in hand.

1millionbot is listening to this conversation and has been developing, for years, projects where culture, in general, and Spanish in particular, have an important place.

range of opportunities

The resources to develop these and other tools are coming. A few months ago, the Spanish Government launched 'New Language Economy', an investment plan of 1.100 million euros to mobilize public and private investment and maximize the value of Spanish.

Precisely, this new program will have as one of its supports another project led by the Royal Spanish Academy of Language (RAE) to take the initiative of Spanish in the development of Artificial Intelligence. With the name of LEIA (Spanish Language Artificial Intelligence), the ancient institution intends to avoid which everyone speaks Spanish as they see fit, at your discretion. With this project, they also intend that the machines and the conversations that are generated follow the rules established by the Academy since they condition the way people express themselves.

A good conversation

To know the possibilities that a Virtual Assistant can offer to take care of the language you use to communicate, what better than a good conversation. Laura García, popularizer of the language, writer and adviser of 1millionbot in the Latin American market, an interview on his radio show Saben las palabras a Rafael González, computational linguist at 1millionbot.

The conversation recounts in detail, how talking to an Assistant can be enriching and natural at the same time. They also talk about the chatbot programming process, how they feed on information and who are the ones who adapt the language to create empathy with the user.

the path traveled

In the conversation held on the airwaves of Radio UNAM in Mexico, some projects that 1millionbot has developed are mentioned and have put it at the forefront of the implementation of AI in culture and literature.

DulcineIA is an assistant based on Artificial Intelligence Developed with the help of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Government of Spain within the framework of its program for the modernization and innovation of the cultural and creative industries through digital and technological projects. Right now is capable of answering more than 1000 questions about the first installment of Cervantes' great novel. You can clarify the meaning of words (adarga, galley slave, prez, trabuco...), expressions ("a fumo de pajas", "al cabo al cabo", "whose name I don't want to remember"...) and proverbs.

The development of DulcineIA led to the collaboration of 1millionbot with the Instituto Cervantes, public institution for the universal promotion of the teaching, study and use of Spanish, as well as the contribution to the diffusion of Hispanic cultures abroad. After the signing of a general action protocol, DulcineIA was presented at the Cervantes Week events organized by Cervantes around April 23 of last year and was disseminated among the students of its headquarters in Beijing and Shanghai.

DulcineIA's experience was the precursor germ of several R&D projects with extraordinary potential in which 1MillionBot is currently immersed and which could lead to a revolution in the education sector, such as the Bartolo Project and the development of intelligent virtual assistants to promote academic success and student retention.
