In this post we are going to analyze the most common natural language interactions of people with virtual assistants. What is interesting?

Of all the chatbots we have on staff (you can interact with them here) I have taken as reference Lola, our star chatbot and expert in horoscopes, with an average of 500 conversations a day, of which 50% are recurring users, that is, they repeat.

Leaving horoscope predictions aside, although they are the most common requests to the chatbot, we are going to focus on the natural language of the conversation between Lola and the users.

These are the 10 most common interactions people have with chatbots.

Top 1: "Hello", "hello", "good"

All or almost all conversations begin with a "hello" (and thank goodness). It is an interaction common to the rest of the mortals.

Top 2: "Okay", "ok", "yes"

I am glad to read that people position themselves more in the "yes" than in the "no", in the "good" than in the "bad".

Top 3: "I am María", "My name is Javier", "My name is Rocio"

People like to say who they are, to introduce themselves, to be known. In this interaction people have not yet realized that they are talking to a chatbot

Top 4: Emoticons

The natural language of the mobile and the new generations is noticeable. People like to chat with a lighthearted, informal and fun touch.

Top 5: "Thank you for helping me", "I appreciate it", "merci"

There is still faith in humanity, it's nice to see a conversation end with a thank you. Concise, nice and sincere.

Top 6: «Trash», «B*tch», «you're a real jerk»

Here comes the beauty. I have been able to read all kinds of insults of different degrees and levels, and innumerable ways of formulating those bad words and from what it seems, they will continue forever and ever, amen. People like to test the bot, to see how far it goes.

Top 7: "How fun", "I love talking to you", "you give me life"

Just as I read a multitude of insults, I also see beautiful and motivating things. People compliment the chatbot regularly and it really shows that they enjoy the conversation.

Top 8: "Lola", "Lolita"

That is, call the chatbot by its name. They speak properly as if it were a person on the other side of the screen. Talking about you to you lets us see that they like to personify the chatbot, feel that it is "someone else"

Top 9: "Haha", "how funny", "you make me laugh"

Laughter is good and if you produce it for someone extra point. People laugh out loud with the chatbot and that's wonderful.

Top 10: "What are you?", "Are you a chatbot?", "Are you a person or a robot?"

People are intrigued to know who they are talking to. The funny thing is that they are asked after a few interactions and after the chatbot has said something that leaves the user confused.
